Meet Serenity

Hi hey! I’m Serenity — a neurodivergent-affirming therapist who works with adolescents, teens, young adults, and families.

My goal as a therapist is honestly to live up to my name by creating a space that feels calm, genuine, emotionally safe, and free of judgment — a place where you can truly show up as yourself. Being neurodivergent myself allows me to bring both personal insight and professional understanding into the therapy process. I value creating a collaborative and affirming environment where clients feel deeply understood and supported in ways that feel authentic to them.

I grew up in small-town western Nebraska, where community, authenticity, and connection were a way of life. I may live in the city now, but I’ll always be a western Nebraska girl at heart. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Chadron State College and later completed my Master’s degree at Walden University

My Background:

Before entering private practice, I worked as the sole social worker in a rural critical access hospital, where I saw firsthand just how important compassionate and accessible mental health care truly is. Later, during my Master’s internship at a child and family-focused private practice, I discovered my passion for working with neurodivergent children and teens, especially ADHD and Autism clients. It was there that my love for play, creativity, and art-based interventions really grew, rooted in the belief that children often communicate through play long before they have the words to express what they’re feeling.

What You Can Expect In Our Sessions:

Sessions with me are warm, relaxed, collaborative, and client-centered. I often describe therapy like a road trip: you’re in the driver’s seat deciding the speed and direction, while I sit in the passenger seat helping guide and support you along the way. My goal is to help clients move toward growth and healing in ways that feel realistic and authentic to them.

At the end of the day, I want therapy to feel human — not cold or clinical. Whether I’m working with a child learning to navigate big emotions, a teen trying to figure themselves out, or parents doing their best to support their family, my hope is that every person who walks into my office feels safe, seen, and genuinely cared for.

What I Do For Fun:

Outside of the therapy office, my priorities are simple: my 3-year-old Golden Retriever, Halo, a “fun” drink (iced coffee, matcha, or Diet Coke, preferably), and a solid ’90s/’00s R&B playlist. I love baking, wandering through TJ Maxx like it’s a competitive sport, and getting lost in binge-worthy documentaries, crime thrillers, and home renovation shows. My personality is basically equal parts cozy house vibes and detective vibes.
