Meet Alyssa
Welcome! I’m glad you’re here!
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and my goal is to make that step feel supported, collaborative, and human. At the center of my work is the therapeutic alliance, the relationship we build together. I believe meaningful change happens when you feel genuinely heard, understood, and safe enough to show up as you are.
My own experience as a client in therapy has deeply shaped the way I practice. It has helped me better understand what it feels like to sit on the other side of the room, the vulnerability, the hope, and sometimes the uncertainty. That perspective keeps me grounded in empathy and reminds me to meet each person with care and respect.
I am neurodivergent myself, and I bring both lived experience and clinical training into my work. This helps me connect in a real and relatable way, especially with clients who may feel different, misunderstood, or overwhelmed. I aim to bridge the worlds of being a client and a therapist with empathy and authenticity, so kids, teens or adults feel seen not just clinically, but as whole people navigating their own unique experiences.
About Me:
Prior to journeying into private practice I worked in a plethora of different arenas. I have always worked with children, families and adults in the world of social work and mental health. I have worked within in community health centers and community mental health centers, hospitals, schools and different nonprofits. I have always had the passion and drive for helping others. Someone asked me the other day what gets me up in the morning, my response, helping others to try and have a better day. I have had my fair share of difficult moments in my life and I know life throws us curveballs. I have learned ways to cope with those moments in unique ways and I’d love to work with you on finding ways that work for you as well.
When I'm Not at work
You’ll find me with my pups. I am a dog mama. I have an English Bulldog and an English Mastiff. The furbabies that require all the attention in the world!
I can also be found in the locally owned coffee shops partaking in espresso drinks and fresh pastries.
I love to travel and be outdoors, going to new places or revisiting old ones. I enjoy the beach as well as the mountains! I like exploring places I’ve never been!
Fitness..this is my jam. I work out as a part of health and fitness but also knowing it’s part of my own mental health care routine. I lift weights, do cardio, and run (as much as I don’t “enjoy” it, I know it’s good for me).
My Approach
I place a strong value on actively listening and staying fully present with what you’re carrying into the room. As a therapist, I believe it’s important to be patient, understanding, and willing to explore things at your pace without pressure or judgment. Therapy is not something done to you but something we do together.
I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families, supporting a wide range of needs including anxiety, emotional overwhelm, behavioral challenges, life transitions, and relationship stress. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and affirming environment where clients feel accepted and understood.
My approach integrates cognitive behavioral work, acceptance and commitment, as well as play and art-based interventions when helpful. I tailor therapy to each person’s needs, meeting you where you are and building tools that feel practical and meaningful in your daily life.
